Jabonga To Implement Makamasang Tugon
Nine barangays in the Municipality of Jabonga will benefit from the Makamasang Tugon Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
This after the DSWD national office has allocated P7.5 million pesos for the municipality, a lone recipient of the program in the entire province.
Aside from agency’s budget, an amount of One Million Five Hundred Thousand (P1,500,000.00) pesos will also be shelled out by the province, another P1.7 million pesos will be shouldered by the local government of Jabonga and also P348,000.00 by the community.
In a simple ceremony held last January 7, 20011 at the Governor’s conference room, Governor Erlpe John M. Amante personally turned over the check worth P1.5 million pesos to Jabonga Mayor Glicerio M. Monton, Jr. representing the counterpart of the provincial government.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the DSWD for continuing to give meaningful projects to the province of Agusan del Norte,” Governor Amante said in part before Asst. Regional Director Mita G. Lim, DSWD, Caraga regional office.
The beneficiary-barangays are San Vicente, San Pablo, San Jose, Magdagooc, Bunga, Colorado, Bangonay, A. Beltran and Sto. Niño with projects ranging from construction of classrooms, day care centers to road concreting. (continue)
9th Baoto Festival 2010 set in Agusan del Norte
JABONGA, Agusan del Norte, Aug. 19 (PNA)-– Preparations are into high gear for the Caraga region’s “9th Baoto Festival 2010” in Lake Mainit’s fourth largest lake in the Philippines in September.The Lake Mainit side municipality of Jabonga will host the big event.
Agusan del Norte Gov. Erlpe John Amante and Agusan del Norte solon Rep. Angel Amante (2nd District, Agusan del Norte) and the Department of Tourism (DoT) Caraga region are fully supporting the “Baoto” competition. (read more – Positive News)
